What is MUIMUN?

What is a MUN?

The abbreviation MUN stands for Model United Nations and describes an event during which students get to play the role of international delegates and discuss different topics in a wide variety of UN-committees while representing their assigned country. The debates are accompanied by social events and often workshops during which the participants have the opportunity to learn about the United Nations or improve skills such as making speeches or writing working papers.

The next edition of MUIMUN will provide its participants with the chance to debate in several English, Spanish and French-speaking committees, working together with over 200 delegates from all over the world in the beautiful city of Münster, Germany. Being a great experience for First Timers and also experienced MUNers, it offers a unique atmosphere of social and international diversity tied together by the magical MUIMUN spirit. The castle being Münster’s main attraction is an ideal place to set the scene for diplomatic discussions, relations and – last but not least – our spectacular socials. There will be scholarships available for international delegates and High school scholars accompanied by workshops concerning a wide variety of topics linked to the United Nations.

About us

Since 1998, students from in- and outside Germany traveled to Hamburg to participate in a Model United Nations Conference. In the course of the past 18 years, the HamMUN became the biggest and leading conference of its kind in Germany, attracting MUN veterans, experts and newbies alike. In 2015, more than 600 participants from all over the world were attracted by the HamMUN. We are proud that many of those who joined the HamMUN once, did return in the following year.

About us

C’MUN was born in May 2006, the first simulation of the United Nations bodies in Spain, for university students.

The immense success of the first editions, the support of the institutions and, above all, the enthusiasm of the participants, soon established C’MUN as a leading Model United Nations, gathering hundreds of delegates every year.

The C’MUN attracts both beginners and MUN veterans, giving beginners the opportunity to learn and discover, and to the experienced ones, to improve and share abilities, making debates intense and profitable.

C’MUN 2018 will be held in the city of Barcelona on April 5th – 8th. The committees to be simulated match very diverse interests and topics, so be sure that one will suit your passions.

AUCMUN is a student-run organisation in charge of organising Amsterdam’s very own Model United Nations. They provide a platform for university students from around the world to debate and discuss dire issues. Last year, 198 delegates, 18 chairs and 4 backroom staff members attended AUCMUN, representing 62 nationalities. At the fourth edition of AUCMUN, which will take place between April 5th – 7th 2019, they are expecting to host 300 delegates.

The non-profit Münster MUN e. V. (German registered association) supports the MUIMUN project actively, especially with a staff (the volontarily working MUIMUN organization team) and ideally. Additionally, it also helps in funding the project.
